Christopher Nolan’s next project will not require the well-known director to come up with any clever twists. (Yes, “clever” is debatable.) Nolan is presenting an unrestored 70mm print edition of Stanley Kubrick’s groundbreaking film 2001: A Space Odyssey at Cannes on May 12. Of course, since we’re not all privy to such an event, the film will then make its way into theaters so you can either experience it on the big screen again, or for the first time. Since this version is unrestored, you’re getting the raw glory Kubrick capture with the camera, minus any digital tricks or remastered effects. The film will hit theaters stateside on May 18, so make sure you grab some tickets and celebrate the film’s 50th anniversary the right way.
