Are you tired of crate digging at your local record shop for that gem you might never find? Does your record collection need some variety? Do you want music recommendations from human beings instead of algorithms? If you answered yes to any of those questions, you should check out the new subscription service VNYL. Here’s how it works: You pick a “vibe” like #dinnerparty, #gamenight or #betweenthesheets and the people at VNYL choose three LPs they’ll think you’ll like and ship them to you. You listen to the records as much as you like and send them back in pre-paid mailing envelopes (sound familiar?). If you want to keep any of the vinyl that just showed up at your door, that’s an option too for as low as $12 each. There’s a monthly fee for the service, but it’s a small price to pay to have another human being curate the music for your dinner party.
