Sotheby’s Hip Hop Icons Auction Includes Items from Biggie and Tupac

Sotheby’s auctions have always had a huge complement of things we always wanted to own, but few of their prior options have included things like what you’ll find in their upcoming Hip Hop Auction. Whether you’re an East Coast or West Coast fan, when it comes to Hip Hop, there are no two bigger names than Biggie and Pac, and both are represented here. On one side, you have the Crown Worn & Signed by Notorious B.I.G. from the iconic ‘King of New York’ photograph that’s expected to raise between $200 and $300k. On the other side, you have an archive of high school love letters handwritten by a teenage Tupac Shakur expected to raise around $80k. The Sotheby’s Hip Hop Auction is scheduled to take place in about two weeks on the 15th of September in New York with a a portion of Sotheby’s proceeds to benefit the Queens Public Library Hip Hop Programs and Building Beats, A Non-Profit Community Organization Focused on DJ & Music Programs.
