In the more than two decades that Signs.com has been operating they’ve seen quite a few logos. It makes sense that a project like Branding in Memory would be a perfect tie-in for the company. In order to find out how accurately we remember the features of famous symbols, they had 156 Americans draw 10 iconic logos from memory. We’d highly recommend attempting to recreate the Apple, adidas, Burger King, Domino’s, 7-Eleven, Foot Locker, Starbucks, Walmart, Target, and IKEA logos before you look at the results, which are hilarious and eye-opening. From misplaced bites in an apple (it’s on the right in the Apple logo) and the Burger King logo being a crown (it isn’t), to the Foot Locker referee wearing a hat (he doesn’t) and the Walmart sun, Signs.com discovered just how faulty our memory is. Check out the study for more info.
