Husbands Scanimation “Manhorse” Music Video

Husbands Scanimation “Manhorse” Music Video

Oklahoma City indie / surf pop / bedroom band Husbands teamed up with the directing duo LAMAR+NIK for their latest music video for the track “Manhorse.” The song has in incredibly catchy old school Strokes vibe, but it’s the unique music video that will really make it stick in your head. Instead of what has now become the traditional “individual members in front of a camera on Zoom,” this video splices real performances with Scanimations–aka barrier-grid animation, kinegrams, or picket fence animal–to create an almost unbelievable visual experience. Even more impressive than the final product is the fact that all the animations were captured in-camera using card stock, transparency sheets and human hands. They even made .gif versions of all the scanimations available for free online so you can add them to your own feeds if you’re so inclined.
