Remember Pigalle’s colorful basketball court on the Rue Duperré in Paris? They’re back at it again with another colorful collaboration with the team from Ill-Studio. The new court is situated in the same space between Paris apartments they used the first time around, but everything from the hoops to the walls has been completely repainted. Whereas the original court was done up in a style most closely related to Mondrian, with primary colors and whites in playful blocks around the space, the new court is a collection of dark blues, purples and oranges setup in blocks, gradients and sharp angles that feel like you’re playing a video game from the ’80s in virtual reality. We have no idea how anyone can be expected to consistently put the ball through the hoop with a translucent purple backboard and a line-less key, but this court certainly gives taking it to the paint a whole new eclectic meaning.
