Phillip K. Smith’s installations are unlike anything else out there. Ever since we saw “Lucid Stead,” a mirrored abode he built in 2013, we knew we were going to love everything Smith concocts. That holds true with his latest, The Detroit Skybridge project. Smith turned the pedestrian overpass into something that looks like it was ripped from a massive equalizer or a DJ’s sound system. The LED lights change color in a way that makes it look like they are moving along the bridge with the people inside. If you aren’t in Detroit and don’t have a visit scheduled, make sure you check out Smith’s Instagram to see the bridge in action. It truly looks like something out of a sci-fi movie.
