There are a lot of things we’d only own if money were no object. It shouldn’t come as a shock that most of them are motor vehicles. Billed as the “world’s first heavy-duty off-road bus,” the Torsus Praetorian is designed to carry 35 passengers and equipment to the kind of remote locations and hostile environments you’d expect to find on an episode of Discovery Channel’s Massive Machines. Mud, sand, rocks, debris and other obstacles are no match for the bus with 240 hp, 682 lb-ft of torque and almost 16″ of ground clearance under the axle. Don’t let the ability to tackle almost anything make you think the ride inside sucks, as it’s decked out nicer than economy class seats on an airplane. If you’re interested in adding one of these bad boys to the fleet, you’ll have to reach out to Torsus for configuration options, availability and pricing (we’ve seen options online in the $160,000 range, which kind of seems like a bargain for what you’re getting).
