We have little desire to take a city tour on one of Segway’s mall cop-approved vehicles. Donning the helmet and slowly navigating urban blocks isn’t exactly our idea of fun. Taking a city tour in Segway’s latest vehicle, however, is absolutely up our alley. That’s because that new device is an electric go kart with great acceleration and the ability to drift. Packed with two motors, the adjustable go kart hits 12 mph from a standstill in just 2 seconds. Okay, so that’s not exactly Tesla’s Insane Mode, but it ain’t too shabby when you’re an inch off the ground. Designed for kids and adults alike, the go kart is adjustable and offers enough space for anyone 4’5″ to 6’3″. A handbrake serves as a backup should the electric brakes fail, but that’s really not what we love about it. What we love is that handbrake lets you drift once you get the timing and feel down for pulling it on a turn. You can even use an app to see your speed, range, and other data in real-time, though you probably don’t want to look while you’re drifting passed someone. You can back the project on Indiegogo and score your own for $1,149.
