The New Porsche 911 GT2 RS Is the Most Powerful 911 Ever

With Porsche hinting that it could lap the Nurburgring in under seven minutes, it’s no surprise that the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS is the most powerful 911 ever produced. How? A 3.8-liter six-cylinder twin-turbo engine that develops 700 horsepower, hits 60 from a stop in 2.7 seconds and has a top track speed of 211 miles per hour. There’s also the 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission that’s fast as hell normally but also has a PDK SPORT mode. The road rocket is full of magnesium, carbon, lightweight polyurethane, polycarbonate and titanium where possible to give it a curb weight of only 3,241 lbs, and that’s before you factor in the optional Weissach Package that will shave off even more weight. All of that performance and lightweight construction doesn’t come at the expense of a stereotypically Porsche interior either, because the cabin is decked out in luxurious red alcantara, black leather and carbon trim, and it still has a touchscreen PCM media system. It might not be very good at doing donuts, but that’s a price worth paying for the rest of the performance.
