The bike rack is clunky eyesore. Found throughout cities and shore towns, these racks add messiness to an area even when not in use. Milou Bergs, a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, is on a mission to rid the world of these metal monstrosities. The solution? Align. Align is project centered around eliminating this unnecessary noise via a series of pop-up bike racks. The racks hide in the pavement when not in use and pop-up like a seesaw when the front wheel is pressed down into one. Not only does it mean a cleaner look, but it means a useable area when there are no bikes present.
