Dr. Juri E. Postnikov is a pretty well-known engineer and designer who’s put his considerable talents to use developing the Partisan One SUV for his upstart company Partisan Motors. One look at this thing and it’s immediately apparent that it’s the stuff of childhood dreams, with its boxy, Erector-like built made almost entirely of right angles. If we’re being completely honest, it kind of reminds us of the Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust that Clarkson, Hammond and May built as part of the Electric Car Challenge on Top Gear but with a much higher build quality and a lack of most external covering. That build style makes the Partisan One a flatpack SUV that can be assembled on site almost anywhere, much like you assemble IKEA furniture in your living room. The barebones SUV doesn’t have much in the way of functional parts (hell, the doors are closed with tiny bungees or string), but it’s built so well that it’s guaranteed for a century and supposedly bombproof. The Partisan Motors has suggested the Partisan One will cost about $59,000 when it finally rolls off the production line, but we don’t see that happening anytime soon.
