PAL-V Liberty Pioneer Flying Car

The phrase, “When cars fly…” might not be as famous as the standard ‘pigs’ version, but it used to be apropos when wheeled vehicles were asphalt only. But flying cars, or as industry experts prefer to call them, eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) crafts, are real and legal. Now, PAL-V has updated their Liberty model from last year and created the Liberty Pioneer. Limited to just 90 units, the Liberty Pioneer still possesses the same versatility as the original: transformation from car to gyrocopter and back in about 5 minutes per phase, take off with 1,000 feet of runway, landing with only 98 feet of runway, a 310-mile range, and land speeds up to 100 mph. The added level of luxury and tech are what make the Liberty Pioneer more exclusive thanks to full leather appointments, carbon fiber trim, and an Electronic Flight Information System. You’ll just need a pilot’s license, a driver’s license, and some deep pockets since it will likely cost well north of the regular Liberty’s $599K asking price.
