Mini Electric Concept

Mini Electric Concept

Mini just revealed some details about their upcoming return to electric vehicles with the Mini Electric Concept. If the concept looks like nothing more than a standard Mini converted to run on wall power instead of fossil fuel, well, that’s because that’s pretty much exactly what happened. Mini added some futuristic flair like the closed off grill, the asymmetrical wheels and the Union Jack LED lights in the rear, but by and large it’s just an electric Mini coupe. If we’re being completely honest, we have absolutely no problems with that, because it’s expected to share hardware with the BMW i3, so it should get about a 150-mile range with at least 150 horsepower. Minis are fun as hell to bomb around in, but 150 miles before charging is probably all we could tolerate in a single trip anyway. The Mini Electric Concept is slated to roll out to dealers in late 2019 as a 2020 model.
