Mercedes Benz designed a car for the LA Design Challenge. They called it the Ener-G-Force. It will probably never end up on a showroom floor. That’s unfortunate because this cross between a Hot Wheels miniature, car from that short lived show Terra Nova and an existing Benz G Wagon has a lot going for it. First off, it looks cool as shit. Like, we wouldn’t be surprised if Mercedes got tapped to have Ener-G-Forces act as the feet in the Voltron reboot or the next Transformers movie that Michael Bay is probably cooking up right now, but the beauty on this thing is more than skin deep. For instance: that roof rack is actually a water collection contraption that begins the process of converting water to hydrogen to power the fuel cells that, hypothetically, can get up up to 500 miles with zero-emissions. Each wheel also has an independent motor, and the suspension is adjusted to fit the terrain and conditions by a roof-mounted scanner. All it needs is rockets, a smoke screen and a more unassuming profile and it’d be perfect for even Bond.
