Land Rover Velar

Land Rover saw a gap in their product line they’re hoping to fill with the Land Rover Velar. It’s supposed to fit between the Discovery Sport and the Evoque, their mid-size and subcompact offerings, respectively. The Velar’s name comes from the Range Rover prototypes of the 1960s, so this may end up being more a revival of those prototypes. Details aren’t exactly abundant on the Velar, as their saving the major reveal for next month’s Geneva Motor Show, but there are a few teases here and there. Foremost has to be chief design officer, Gerry McGovern’s description. He describes it as bringing a “new dimension of glamour, modernity and elegance to the brand.” Like we said, it’s a little thin on details, and right now seems more about marketing than any concrete descriptions. Land Rover is also promising a more sustainable construction for the car, though we sincerely doubt the car’s going to be made of recycled newspapers, so that’s another thing we’ll have to wait until the Motor Show for a more of.
