Jeep Debuts 7 Concept Vehicles

The Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, has become the Jeep event for off-road enthusiasts. Hosted by the Red Rock 4-Wheelers club, the Jeep celebration now even comes with a slew of concept vehicles from the brand—and this year didn’t disappoint. Feast your eyes on the Grand One, Safari, CJ66, Trailpass, Switchback, Luminator, and Quicksand. There’s obviously a lot to get into here, so we’ll just go with a bit about our favorites. The Safari Concept, with its see-through “windoors” and translucent roof, offers little privacy, but lots of quirky style. The Grand One Concept is a complete throwback, looking ripped straight from the early ’90s—which it pretty much is, as it’s a slightly revamped version of the 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Then there’s the Jeep Quicksand, which is the black ride you see at the top of this page that looks like the vehicle Max Rockatansky might design if Jeep told him, “Remember, we do have to try and sell it.” Packed with a Hemi V8 and exhaust headers aimed toward the ground, the Jeep looks and rumbles like a hot-rod. Whether we ever get to see these vehicles in a showroom remains to be seen.
