Taiwanese startup Gogoro first burst onto the scene a handful of years ago with and advanced electric scooter called the S1. That great little ride led to more scooters and now, the release of their most impressive vehicle yet, the Eeyo 1 Electric Bike. Like other options on the market, the Eeyo 1 Electric Bike is a fusion of traditional riding and electric power with a range of 40 – 55 miles (depending on eco-assist), a top speed of 19mph and smartphone syncing functionality. The most important aspect of the Eeyo bike is the Eeyo Smartwheel that brings the motor, battery and sensors together into one incredibly smart and lightweight piece that functions as the rear hub. This design aspect means that, unlike other boxy and/or obtuse e-bike options on the market, the Eeyo Smartbike has all the geometry and familiar feel of a traditional bicycle. When you factor in the carbon fiber frame that weighs just 26lbs, you have the recipe for what many are billing as the “sports car of e-bikes.” Both the Eeyo 1 and Eeyo 1s are expected to drop in July of this year.
