Our love for motorcycles knows no bounds, and when Long Beach, CA-based electric motorcycle company Fly Free Smart Motorcycles revealed its new off-road scrambler known as the Smart Desert, it got our attention. Looking like a cross between a dirt bike and a vintage scrambler, the Desert offers more than just everyday rideability and style but real efficiency and ease-of-use. The powertrain consists of a removable battery pack (that can be doubled up for twice the range), a 300w electric motor with three driving modes and up to 50 mph of top speed, a pushbutton start with USB charger, and the total absence of gears for clutchless stress-free riding. Surrounding all of this electric wonderment is a retro scrambler style with fat knobby tires, disc brakes, a black powder-coated frame, a round 8-beam LED headlight, and a beautiful brown stitched leather seat. Ordering and pricing details to come.
