FJ Company 1981 Toyota FJ45 Land Cruiser “Troopy”

FJ Company 1981 Toyota FJ45 Land Cruiser “Troopy”

As much as we love a good Land Rover Defender 90 or 110 restomod, a well-done vintage Toyota Land Cruiser FJ can easily rival it in terms of old-school coolness. For some reason, these vintage Toyotas deliver the look, feel, and capability minus the pretense. The FJ Company’s latest is just such a vehicle, and it might have the longest rear overhang of any vehicle we’ve come across. The whole thing has been reworked without losing the original’s spirit and even manages to turn it from a two-door into a full-fledge four. It also gets full leather upholstery and two rows of folding jump seats along with a modern touchscreen for infotainment, Apple CarPlay, LED interior lights, a rear-facing camera, padded roll-cage, and retractable running boards. Expect the pricing to be well north of six figures, but it’d be worth it to have an FJ for the modern age.
