There wasn’t anything wrong with any of the previous iterations of Pagani’s Huayra, but now that we’ve seen what it can do topless we’re inclined to write off all the original coupe versions because the Pagani Huayra Roadster is a topless dream machine. Before you think that Pagani just cut the roof off and replaced it with options for a light carbon hard top with glass or a fabric and carbon fiber soft top, know that they did so much more. Built with a combination of proprietary Pagani carbon-fiber weaves dubbed carbo-tanium and carbo-triax HP52, the roadster is reportedly over fifty percent stiffer and even lighter than the coupe version it’s based on. All 2,822 pounds of dry weight are still propelled by a Mercedes-AMG powerplant. In this case it’s the M158 twin-turbo 6.0-liter V-12 that outputs over 750 horsepower and 737 lb-ft of torque built special for Pagani. In other words, it’s fast as hell and ridiculously lightweight but also carries a fittingly absurd price tag.
