A good flat tracker needs immediate torque, which is why an electric powertrain is perfect. Toby Roberts of Australia’s Ed Motorcycles’ Concept Z uses a Chromoly chassis, TIG-welded panels, and a battery that powers a Zero 74-7R PMAC motor. The structure provides rigidity to manage the immense torque and allows the Concept Z to pound the dirt track like a little beast. It also boasts a CR85 mono-shock, a pair of 19” Excel rims, a classic flat tracker tail, tracker bars, offset vertical LED headlights, and a faux tank that houses electronics and controls. The thinly padded seat provides just the right amount of comfort, but the rest is all business when it comes to traction, torque, and letting the tail out and the dirty fly.
