Not everyone can or wants to drop thousands on a fancy e-bike. The folks at Brooklyn-based CLIP wants to bring e-biking to the masses with their new portable motor that attaches and detaches to your existing pedal bike with ease. Not only can it fit most adult bikes, but it also doesn’t weigh much at all and can be tossed in a carry bag. It clips to the front fork and the powered hub meets with your front tire. The aluminum CLIP uses a 450W motor powered by a 36V, 144Wh battery. Depending on your bike’s weight (as well as your own), it can propel you to 15 mph up to 15 miles. It also recharges fully in a mere 40 minutes, so you can get to work and back without worry. And, yes, everyone will stare at you cruise down the street without a care in the world.
