Canoo Electric Vehicle Subscription Only Microbus

If you thought you’d already seen everything the world of ride-sharing had to offer, hold on to your hats for the new start-up Canoo. This new LA-based startup is boasting a fleet of bulbous and otherwise rounded vehicles designed by Richard Kim–the same guy that penned the BMW i3 and i8–that are specifically targeted at millennials that would otherwise have no business in a properly appointed yet tiny MegaBus. Canoo buses will do up to 125mph for a range of 250 miles with 300bhp and 313lb-ft of torque thanks to the rear-wheel drive setup and the 80kWh battery, but that same impressive setup that allows it to be charged up in a couple mins short of a half hour is only going to be available in a subscription-based service. There’s no word yet on how, exactly, that subscription service is going to flesh out in the LA-area and beyond, but we’re excited to see what they come up with. The Canoo Electric Vehicle Subscription Only Microbus is expected to launch in 2021, but we image that launch will be much sooner if enough people express interest in the platform.
