BMW M3 Touring

BMW M3 Touring

The 3-Series Touring (wagon) is no longer sold in the states, and that’s a cryin’ shame. It had the best of both worlds in terms of performance and practicality. Plus, it was the best-looking permutation of the venerable sports sedan at the time. It just didn’t sell very well in America. Not that this feels any better for Americans, but BMW is building its first high-performance 3-Series wagon, most likely for international markets. They just announced the M3 Touring, and showed off the tail section of the upcoming station wagon. The shadowy teaser doesn’t show much, but the fat rear bumper, quad exhaust tips, and the black diffuser look pretty damned good. The M3 Touring will be the final vehicle in the M3/M4 lineup that will begin their unveiling this fall. The new wagon should get a six-cylinder M TwinPower turbo engine and a configurable luggage compartment. Other details are forthcoming, but we probably shouldn’t hold our breath because it’s unlikely the M3 Touring will make it stateside.
