BMW Garmisch

If this recreation of a long gone BMW concept car doesn’t go down in the pantheon of rare automobiles, we’re not sure what else qualifies. The original BMW Garmisch was created by famed Lambo Miura designer Marcello Gandini, and it debuted at the 1970 Geneva Motor Show then disappeared from sight. The unique sedan has been recreated under BMW Group design head Adrian van Hooydonk and shows off all the originality of the concept. The squared headlights, protruding kidney grilles, and the mesh rear window cover were truly unique for its era, and even more so now. The interior is even more radical with its squared off surfaces, thin spoked steering wheel, vertically mounted radio and huge passenger fold-out mirror. The Garmisch will be kept in the BMW Museum in Munich, where it will hopefully never disappear (again).
