While Elon Musk wants to alleviate traffic jams by pulling your car underground, Bell is looking to go in the other direction… literally. Bell just introduced its Air Taxi, a self-piloting “helicopter” that will take off and land vertically. The driving factor here is time, and saving you more of it during a particularly grueling commute, as the on-demand Air Taxi will pack technologies like video calling and WiFi so you can work while you take to the skies and shorten your travel time. Uber is on board, as we reported recently, with the plan to have these puppies in the air in 2020, so you can hail one through Uber Elevate. Each Air Taxi will boast seating for four, travel updates, and much more. That crosstown commute just got a little more scenic.
