Rico Kersten is a Berlin-based designer with a passion for 3D and SciFi who specializes in digital art, automotive design, game design. Kersten created The Beast Hoverbike as part of international design competition A Road Trip in 2116. The rules were simple: “On Saturday, July 18th, 2116, what would be your ride?” Kersten chose to design a bike that, while being equally at home in the worlds of Star Wars or Akira, was designed to tackle everything but the surface using a radial fan propulsion system in place of the front wheel. Add in some wings, reverse thrusters and a whole lot of cool design and it’s easy to see why it won second place in the competition. It’s obviously nothing more than a conceptual flight of fancy at this point, but we’re willing to bet it would be a huge hit if it ever got made.
