Trikes get a bad rap because of their connotation with the bikes outfitted with training wheels we all learned to ride on. The AKO Electric Trike is world’s apart from what you might consider a traditional tricycle–outside of the fact it has three wheels. This unique vehicle with two wheels out front and one in the rear–along with enough space in the covered cabin for two passengers–might just be the future of motorized transportation. Up to 200 kW of motor output power with a 26 kWh battery pack. This allows the AKO Electric Trike to reach a theoretical speed of up to 150 mph (it will most definitely be limited to well below that depending on the country you’re in) with a max range of up to 187 miles. AKO is expected to launch a crowdfunding this Fall in hopes of raising enough money to begin production sometime in 2021.
