A Superyacht That Crawls Onto the Shore Like a Crab

A Superyacht That Crawls Onto the Shore Like a Crab

Rome-based Lazzarini Design Studio has been responsible for vehicle concepts that are as cool as they are equally absurd–like the Vespa Jet Ski and Swan-Shaped Concept Yacht–for as long as we can remember, but even those concepts are nowhere as ambitious as the Pagurus “The Crabmaran” concept that combines superyacht with catamaran and amphibious vehicle features. Pagurus–which is Latin for crab, for the record–is an 82ft, solar-powered superyacht that leverages 4 separate, 21′ steel helical cylinders camouflaged in pairs in the catamarans to create an amphibious vehicle capable of using said screw-like cylinders to pull itself from the deep blue onto the shore. Once the 8-room, solar-powered, luxury vehicle is on shore, it can lower its land exploration vehicle–in this case, a Tesla CyberTruck–for further exploration. In other words, this concept yacht is nothing short of extraordinary and future-proof… if it ever makes it way from concept sketch to practical application.
