When it comes to Barret-Jackson, they more than live up to their “world’s greatest collector car auctions” trademark. This year’s Palm Beach auction (April 11 – 13) is full of classic cars we want to park in the garage. There’s a 1968 Ford Mustang Eleanor Tribute Edition, a 1953 Buick Skylark Convertible, a 1964 Chevy Corvette Custom Convertible, a 1986 Porsche 930 and the incredible station wagon you see here. A 1981 Ford LTD Custom Station Wagon is probably not the first thing you’d look for at a classic car auction, but as you’re probably already aware, this one is special. This isn’t any early 80s Ford wagon, this is a recreation of the Wagon Queen Family Truckster from the iconic film National Lampoon‘s Vacation. This is a modern recreation of the wagon from the film complete with 5.0-liter V8 and automatic transmission, so as long as you don’t drive like Chevy Chase did in the film, it should be a comfortable ride for years to come.
