The Latest Iteration of the Porsche 911 Is Here

Over the better part of the past five decades, and through more different iterations and options builds than we can even count, the Porsche 911 has remained one of the most classic sports cars ever created. There’s just something about that iconic swooping shape and the driving experience that makes the 911 the 911 and one of the most immediately recognizable cars on the road. And that’s probably why, for 2020, Porsche didn’t change much about the new eighth iteration of the car, code-named 992. Just unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the latest Porsche 911 looks, well, pretty much the same. But under that similar exterior are a few noteworthy changes. There’s an improved injection system with optimized turbos and intercoolers that raises the overall horsepower to 443, which also means it can do 0-60 in around 3.5 seconds depending on which package you opt for. There are also wider wheel housings, a throwback hood, a rear with a built-in bar and, most importantly, a body made almost entirely of aluminum. The 2020 Porsche 911 should be available at dealers next summer with prices starting in the low six figures depending on model and details.
