The Donkervoort D8 GTO-RS set a lap record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 2004 before getting completely redesigned in 2016. Everything they produce is incredible, but ultimately irrelevant because they just pulled the tarp off the lightest, fastest and most versatile GTO ever. Say hello to the 2019 Donkevoort D8 GTO-40, a rolling work of art that’s as stylish as it is fast. It weighs less than 1,500 pounds thanks to their patented carbon fiber EX-CORE technology. It will hit 62mph from a standstill in 2.7 seconds because of the Audi 2.5L R5 engine outputting more than 380bhp. Just as importantly, all this performance comes in the iconic Donkevoort package that’s completely modern while still being a throwback to vintage roadsters.
