When it comes to off-road, mini SUVs, our favorite is the generations old Suzuki Jimny. When it comes to hot rods–as much as we like restored pony cars and American classics from the 60s and 70s–it’s rat rods all day for us because there’s just something about that low slung chassis, fat tires and murdered out appearance that always checks all the boxes. Enter the multi-faceted director / designer / builder / Renaissance man Leo Esteves–aka les83machines–with his 1977 Suzuki Jimny Rat Rod you see here. Despite the fact it only exists as pixel, this vehicle has everything we want from a Jimny, a rat rod or, in the case of this whip’s incredibly small stature and size, a go kart. You don’t need full doors, a roof or other modern safety features when you’re cruising around in a vehicle like this because you’ll probably be wearing a helmet and a fire suit. Even if this vehicle never hits production–please, please, please, someone make it a reality–it’s one of those interesting concepts we can always appreciate because it reimagines a classic motor as something completely different.
