As much as we love modified Land Rovers that have been amped up and blacked out, still nothing compares to a vintage Land Rover that looks like it’s never been updated. That’s where this 1972 Series III comes in, and it’s just about perfect in our eyes. The classic Marine Blue painted aluminum body has aged beautifully, imperfections and all, as has the original interior that has no freakin’ clue what infotainment or satellite navigation are. The biggest change is a new chassis that’s been galvanized to ward off rust. Under the hood is the original modest 2.25-liter inline four-cylinder engine with 60 horsepower and 24,000 miles on the odometer. Though you won’t roast anyone at a stop light, it doesn’t matter since details like caged lights, white steel wheels with MUD X-Tra Traction tires (and a hood-mounted spare), a tailgate-mounted work lamp, and an old-school tugboat rope wrapped around the front bumper will simply slow everyone else down just to ogle.
