In 1957, Jaguar set out to build 25 of the gorgeous Jaguar XKSS cars you see before you, but nine were lost when they were destroyed in a factory fire. In an effort to remedy that, Jaguar is producing nine painstakingly researched continuation cars to fill the gap for the originals that were lost. Each of the new XKSS models will be produced with the same attention to detail as the original and remain faithful to the same design, with something close to 10,000 man hours going into each car. You’re getting the same 262hp 3.4L straight six Jaguar D-type engine, Dunlop brakes / tires and drop dead gorgeous styling, but safety regulations have changed over the years making the car less than street legal. Producing something with that many man hours and this much details also necessitates a huge price tag, but this is one fantastic race car if you can afford it.
