Scene 3 Recycled Skateboard Bottle Opener

Scene 3 Recycled Skateboard Bottle Opener

Turning one man’s trash into another man’s treasure isn’t always the easiest thing in the world to execute. Stripping a piece of furniture and applying a new coat of stain, while time consuming, is not as difficult as say, taking a broken skateboard deck and trying to create a cool, functional bottle opener out of it. But that’s exactly what the guys from Scene 3 have done with their Recycled Skateboard Bottle Opener keychains. After some proofs of concept and trial and error, they arrived at this final design that uses a hand-selected piece of broken deck, a skateboard bolt and some clever engineering to get your beverage open. In line with their commitment to keeping things as green as possible, they actually sand the decks with the discarded grip tape from the same board.
