We’ve always liked the idea of cuckoo clocks, but we could never really get behind their design aesthetic. The over the top fences, pieces of wood and pastel colors always seemed to fit more on the wall of that weird Aunt that everyone has they only see around Christmas time. There’s nothing wrong with that and yes, she’s our favorite aunt to. The Quercus is a different story entirely. Made with responsibly sourced plywood, finished in oak stain, shellac and beeswax. They’re battery-powered with a quartz mechanism and a moving pendulum. The bird moves its beaks and wings and the volume is fully adjustable. If you guessed that lines this clean and design this svelte couldn’t be machine-made, you’d be correct. Each clock is handmade in Hackney Wick, London.
