There’s just something about the experience of finishing an opponent with a well-placed hadouken or dragon punch in person, at an arcade console that can never be matched by winning a match of the latest first-person shooter while people scream in your ears and call you an idiot. The Polycade wants to replicate the ultimate casual gaming experience by building a 30″ x 17″ cabinet that can be wall-mounted for the perfect one or two person gaming session. The Polycade makes all this possible with the latest gen Raspberry Pi, a multi-system emulator and an 8GB SD card that comes pre-loaded with close to a hundred games. If you want to add additional games, the Polycade has been tested with the following systems: Atari 800, Atari 2600, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, Game Gear, Sega Master system, Sega Genesis, NES, Turbo Grafx 16 and SNES. You could build this entire system yourself (we’ve attempted before), but this final product is so pretty and well prepared that you might as well just buy one.
