Material Immaterial is a design shop out of Mumbai, India, that explores the possibilities of what can be created with bare materials in different forms. Their Miniature Concrete Homes are the perfect examples of their design and construction processes and, just as importantly, what’s possible with a material most people only use for construction purposes. The “SPACES” collection include 8 different concrete miniatures that each measures 62mm x 62mm x 51mm and feature tiny crevices, voids, stairs and architectural elements across each of the textured sides. Each piece in the collection is a unique, squared-off and individually complete space, but they can be combined in multiple configurations to create a tiny concrete village. If you purchase the entire set you’ll also get the ninth central space block (that cannot be purchased separately) that the other Miniature Concrete Homes can be placed around to create a finished space it’s easy to imagine people living in.
