Mead is touted as “the ancestor of all fermented drinks,” even though it’s invention is “lost in prehistory.” Prehistory! Before there was even history! The point is, mead is old as shit. It’s been around forever because fermented honey and water actually tastes pretty damn good–even when it’s not renaissance fair season. If you’ve ever had a craving for Mead and couldn’t find any, Williams Sonoma has got you covered with the Mead Making Kit. It includes everything you need to make five total gallons of Mead (1 gallon glass fermenter, temperature strip, hydrometer, airlock, stopper, siphon tube, yeast and instructions) except the honey. You’re going to have to Winnie the Pooh yourself some honey, but everything else is in there. The only problem is that it takes four to six weeks to ferment, so you’re still going to have to wait a bit.
