There are plenty of great choices for a last meal, but if we had to pick ours right now it would be pastrami and chocolate egg cream from Katz’s. Yes, it’s touristy. Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, there’s already an autobiography about the place. We get it. Adding scented candles (even if they’re made by Joya and smell like the Katz’s Chocolate Egg Cream) kind of makes you want to scream sellout like you did when your favorite band signed to a major label. You have every reason to feel that way, but we’re going to pick up these candles anyway because it will make us feel like we’re at Katz’s… without the food coma, nausea and extra trips to the gym. What we really want to know is why they didn’t produce the pastrami scented candle first.
