IKEA’s Democratic Design Days always produces a bunch of insane collaborations and products we want to own—like Virgil Abloh’s receipt rug—but few collections impressed us as much as the upcoming Rumtid collection that’s inspired by space. Based on the concepts of time, small space, and water and air, the Rumtid collection saw a team from IKEA head to the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah and the capsule hotels of Tokyo to create pieces perfectly suited for living spaces on and out of this world. Rumtid includes an indoor terrarium, lighting options, air purifier, and a Kee Klamp-style wooden dowel and connector system that will allow you to custom build just about anything you can imagine. Rumtid will release in four separate stages starting in 2020, so start saving up some disposable income now because we have a feeling you’re going to want one of everything.
