Getting a mouthful of coffee grounds is about as pleasant as biting into a poorly deboned piece of fish. Unless your grind is just right, that’s often what ends up happening when you pour from a French press. The Duo Coffee Steeper is a clever brewer that eliminates this issue. Similar to a Chemex in design, Duo allows you to simply twist the top once the grounds have sat in the hot water long enough and double filter your coffee. This means, not only will you not have grounds in your teeth, but your coffee won’t sit with them too long like is often is the case with a French press. At the same time, you’ll get a more robust coffee than you could with a pour over since you control the amount of time the coffee stays in contact with the grounds. It’s a smart way to get your morning fix.
