You Can Buy a $3,000 Playstation Controller

Artist and sculptor Daniel Arsham has made a name for himself by crafting life-size recreations of daily objects and gadgets. His latest release continues a trend of electronics that started earlier in 2021 when he unveiled the “Crystal Relic 002” Game Boy and “Crystal Relic 003” camera. “Crystal Relic 004” is set to land today, January 14th at noon EST. This to-scale replica of the classic Playstation controller is made from “cast resin pressurized to be completely clear.” It measures 55mm high, 95mm wide, and weighs 295 grams and the sculpture comes with a pair of handling gloves as well as a holographic label to certify authenticity. Only 500 pieces will be available and each will sell for $2,790. Gaming nostalgia has been on the rise for several years and Arsham’s work continues that legacy. The Crystal Relic 004 sculptures will be delivered to customers in March of this year.
