Calaveras – Day of the Dead Playing Cards

Calaveras – Day of the Dead Playing Cards

Besides the skulls, there is definitely a style of art that relates to the Day of the Dead. It’s hard to describe in words, but Chris Ovdiyenko nails it as he harkens back to the work of Jose Posada (a famous Mexican printmaker) for inspiration in his deck of cards. The playing cards, which feature the Bicycle logo from their original 1895 Expert Back deck, look stunning and would be perfect for a few hands of poker over some ice cold Coronas. You can also buy the work as woodcut prints if you want to put some of the art on display.
