Over the past few years, Apple has spared no expense when it comes to crafting retail experiences that are nothing short of transformative. Apple Piazza Liberty in Milan. Apple Cotai Central in Macau. Apple Kyoto. Apple Park. Carnegie in DC, Marunouchi in Japan, Aventura in the USA, Fifth Avenue in New York and the list goes on. The latest creation from Foster + Partners Architecture is the recently unveiled Apple Central World store in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. Like every other Apple store, you can buy all the latest products and accessories, play with the devices and get Genius Bar support. Unlike the other stores, this one is housed underneath a cantilevered tree canopy roof made of wood and is completely encased in a glass exterior. In order to navigate the upper level of the store, you need to enter and climb the stairs that wrap around the interior “trunk” of the tree to get to the retail area. There’s also a unique cylindrical elevator clad in mirror-polished stainless steel if you won’t want to climb the stairs, but we can’t imagine anyone wanting to skip those views. Apple Central World is open for business right now if you’re in Bangkok.
