Over 200 of Anthony Bourdain’s Possessions Are Heading to Auction

It’s been over a year since Anthony Bourdain’s death. Next month, over 200 of Tony’s possessions are heading to auction, and the collection is impressive to say the least. There are paintings from John Lurie, Brad Phillips and Ralph Steadman. There’s a Peter Lovig Nielsen teak, flip-top desk Bourdain used to write at, and the chrome duck press from the Paris episode of The Layover. The collection also includes various scripts and manuscripts, other pieces of art, some clothing and the pièce de résistance, a custom-made Bob Kramer steel and meteorite chef’s knife that was given to Bourdain in 2016. According to Marilyn White, a spokeswoman for Lark Mason Associates, the collection is worth upwards of $400,000 in total. 60% of the proceeds will go to his family, and 40% will be used to fund a scholarship for the Culinary Institute of America named for Bourdain. The auction will take place from October 9th – 30th with three exhibits taking place in New York, Savannah, Georgia and New Braunfels, Texas.
