Given the field that I have chosen, I don’t really get ‘dressed up’ too much. When I do, I relish the chance to get to wear my grandfathers old tie clip that was handed down to me after he passed away. I have no idea of its origin and significance to him personally, but to me it has become a small reminder of how to be a true man’s man. He was a man from a different kind of generation; one of war veterans and polite, honest hard workers who helped build our country to what it is today. He wore this tie clip with his suit some days, would paint houses on others, and even pump oil a few afternoons a week to support his family. When I put this tie clip on with my suit, I don’t need to feel like JFK or Don Draper, I get to feel like my grandfather who is my real life inspiration.
