We definitely were not old enough to listen to Metallica’s The Black Album (yes, we know it’s actually called Metallica, but come on) when it was first released in the early 90s. But when we did finally get the chance to hear it the first time–without parental approval, obviously–it changed everything. Turns out Greg Koch, co-founder of Stone Brewing and their imprint Arrogant Consortia, was similarly affected by the album. In what we can only imagine was a lifelong dream, the Arrogant Consortia team collaborated with Metallica to brew Enter Night Pilsner (go ahead and belt out a few verses of “Enter Sandman”), a 5.7%, 45 IBU brew that’s crisp, refreshing and comes with it’s own toast–“It’s enter night people… Goddamn!”. Enter Night Pilsner is slated for a nationwide release early this year, and it will also be available at venues where Metallica is performing during their “Worldwired Tour.”
